The longest one ever

For a few weeks now I’ve been rediscovering a previously mothballed artisticaly creative side, much of which has utilised one or more of my growing army of Moleskines. See someof the work on my flickr here. Jen, gratifyingly full of encouragement of - and taking inspiration from - this creative activity, came up with a most excellent idea yesterday. “Why not see what you create using that spare Moleskine Japanese foldout album?”

For those of you who don’t know what that is, see the page here and here. It’s just like a notebook except that all the pages are folded in concertina style, only attached on one edge so they fold out into a very long strip, while still retaining the ability to flick through just like a book. If you saw one, you would immediately understand the concept, though I suspect wonder as to what real practical use it could be applied.

So the task is set, create a drawing directly in the Japanese album book which will ultimately fill the entire page area. No mean feat because when fully extended thaere’s a fair length of paper in there, so it will take some time. But expect scanned progress on my flickr page as the project develops.
