It has been bugging me for a while now and after the issue raising itself again today I thought I would let off steam about it.
One word, Adobe… consistency.
I’ve been using Illustrator since late 1990 (Oh my, has it been that long?), and it has been pretty consistent for most of that time. Suddenly, with Illustrator CS, they have decided to switch the physical locations of some of the dialog boxes’ buttons. The biggest problem for me is the Print dialog. Every other application sticks the Print button (which confirms and executes the printing) at the bottom right of the dialog. Now, however, it is one button to the left, thus resulting in my frequently tagging the mouse on the Done button, then wondering why I do not have a printout ten minutes later when I have shut down Illustrator and moved on to a completely different job.

Yes, perhaps I should be hitting return rather than click the button, but it has become force of habit after many years to assume that the confirmation button of a dialog is actually the bottom left-most action - after all, it is pretty much everywhere else. I love illustrator and what I can create with it, but this irritation is… well… irritating.
