Amadeus goes Pro and multi-track

Pro-level (expensive) sound editing apps aside, I’ve never found anything to beat Amadeus for fast, clean, ‘get-it-done-now’ audio editing. It has always been responsive and reliable; one of those old-faithful, essential tools. I was delighted to see yesterday that Amadeus is now called Amadeus Pro and has upped its game considerably.

The first and most obvious addition is mutliple tracks. Previously, the one compromise with the original Amadeus was editing within only the single pair of stereo tracks. Now, as many as you want, each with individual and envelope level controls.

As before, you still get both VST and AudioUnit plugin support, some very useful sound cleaning utilities, and above all the expected responsiveness of an application you are happy using for last minute, urgent, any format sound file edits. Looks like it has a great deal more export format options too. In addition there’s batch processing of files. Have a load of files to convert to mp3 but need to normalise each one first? Amadeus can handle that for you.
