I have one of those loverly, minimalist keyboards - the bluetooth, cordless style - and It is one of my top purchases in recent times. It’s not a product for everyone, but perfect for me.
With all the words I type both for work and personal projects, I frequently hit the Caps Lock key when I am aiming for the A key - an error that is not uncommon but that can result in whole paragraphs of CAPS if one is in full flow and therefore not paying close attention to the screen.
Apple have built an anti-jab into the Caps Lock on these keyboards where a simple, quick tap - such as when typing, and missing, the A - will not turn on Caps Lock. Caps Lock requires a positive press, for just a fraction of a second longer than a normal typing key press. I would guess for usability the timing of these key presses is critical to avoid requiring too long a delay when wanting to switch on Caps Lock, and Apple have nailed it.
When you need to switch off Caps Lock, the ant-jab does not operate, so a standard typing key press is all that’s required.
