Bad timing purchase

Prowheel
A small win on the Lotto last week went quite some way to contributing to a new, long awaited driving wheel for the PS2. Driving games are my pet faves, mostly because I can slot a little playtime in the odd half an hour here and there and not have to engage with the game for half a day to get anywhere.

The old Logitech Force Feedback was getting a little long in the tooth so an upgrade was imminent. Although significantly more expensive than most PS2 compatible wheels available, the Driving Force Pro wheel has one major advantage: a 900 degree rotation! If you are not a game player than that means a far more natural steering style than the regular 200 degree wheels - helps prevent things getting too twitchy at high speeds for one thing. Though only a handful of games are fully compatible with it, my top two drives (GT4 and WRC Evolved) are all set up and ready for the enhanced experience. And boy is it good!

All this means I am wishing I had more spare time to thrash the virtual Scoobie around the world’s dirt tracks while my co-driver poops his pants when I hit a tree and sometimes almost starts a race with his pace-notes upside down (yes, he really says that sometimes).
