It’s December, so I’m allowed to mention Christmas.
Last year, jEN and I spent most of our Christmas Day down at the beach. Sandwiches and a bottle of bucks fizz served as our Christmas dinner while we sat in an old wooden shelter just off the beach at Worthing.
It was cold.
It was dull and overcast.
Almost everything was shut.
It was a most excellent day.
People wandered around for their post turkey strolls in the hope that a calorie or two might leave them and alleviate a little of the Christmas pudding guilt. We wandered around with cameras and took photos of whatever took our fancy until the light faded and our fingers could hardly press shutter buttons. (jEN’s & mine - there were more, we just didn’t post many to flickr.)
This year, something of a contrast. The plan is to rework the living room into a place we can vegetate for the day while watching the entire Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Special Editions - yes, all eleven and a half hours, accompanied by buckets of popcorn. Why? Because we can (and because we do not have kids!).
Are you planning or have you ever had planned a less than conventional Christmas?

He’s a very nice person, indeed! I too had that offer from him…

My plan for Christmas is similar to yours. Being a big Babylon 5 fan, I have the entire series on DVD. I plan to start at the beginning and watch the whole series over again this winter. Christmas Day is my Day 1. It’s always nice to spend Christmas somewhere else!

I like how you think! Only at my house it would be a Hills marathon.
