Code Igniter has proved to be a valuable tool in helping to get some of my personal code projects off the ground. Here are the three which are currently in development.
WriteRelief (http://writerelief.co.uk)
WriteRelief is designed to help freelance writers track their submissions to magazines, publications and publishers. The database enables creation of projects from which submissions are tracked and reports to measure ongoing success. It will also ultimately include a comprehensive database of publishers and publications, with contact information. This will be a hosted solution with a low subscription cost. Currently pre alpha.
GetItDone (http://sourceforge.net/projects/getitdone)
GID is a web-based implimentation of David Allen’s Getting Things Done (GTD). It blends some ideas from project management with other GTD solutions but without becoming so complex that the user spends more time messing with the solution that they do solving the problem! GID will be available as Open Source for the single-user version. A multi-user, cooperative project management version is planned as a subscription-only hosted version. Requires PHP4.3+ (not PHP 5 initially), and MySQL. Currently pre alpha.
AquariumCMS
Aquarium was built following my frustration with the user iinterface compromises required by the majority of CMS (content management systems). Aquarium is modular and enables any number of modules to be applied to any number of blocks within a page, all of which can be styled and managed independently. A free basic version version for non-commercial use, with a fully-functional commercial version also being available. Currently in beta.
