WARNING: this is an all-out big-headed, obese-ego boast because I feel pretty darn good about it.
I mentioned in a previous post about being asked by BBC Radio 5 Live’s Pods and Blogs programme to cover the We Media Fringe event with some on the spot interviews. Job done, minidisk, microphone and recordings delivered back, a weekend of wondering if I did it right and they weren’t cursing their decision to trust an amateur.
The response from Chris Vallance was, and I quote:
…was a v.nice job you did of the recording..all well balanced good questions no mic noise. I’ve had much worse from experienced broadcasters
An interview with Suw Charman was broadcast on Pods and Blogs this week and others will be used in subsequent weeks. I feel pretty darn good about the BBC being happy with what li’l old me produced. Please widen all doors at around head-level for a while.
Love the logo! You are so very good at branding…
Good luck to you and Adrian on your new venture!
Great to see this getting off the ground. Good luck with it guys.
Linked Media Ltd is launched…
…
Sounds very interesting! Please keep me updated.
And what could possibly be the mysteriosly missing pre-emptive PS points 4 and 5, I wonder?
“No, it won’t create an increased incidence of people walking out into traffic as they attend to audio distractions”?
“Yes, it will encourage face-to-face conversations between people breathing the same air”?
Seriously, though, even though I’m someone who rarely notices when I leave the Treo at home because it’s just not that important in these days of microscopic laptops and tremendous penalties for mobilephone use while driving, I wish you all the luck in the world. Can’t wait to see more!
Damn you editor types spotting my pseudo-linear utilisation of standard numeric sequence.
The question is… what number comes next?
12 or 1100. It’s editorial, my dear Dixon.
Sorry, Neil, for the adjacent post. It’s the day after publication of Podcast User Magazine (Issue 4!), and I’m a bit euphoric.
Apologise not. And it’s about bloody time that publication turned up!
Though do tell Paul to resize his huge cover images on the blog, they are a couple of hundred kb a piece!
Don’t look at me when you need all of your hats altered to accommodate your ego. I only sew for the little guys, your highness.
Truly though, good job sweetie!
If you’re planning to change your sig, to “The man who created Britcaster and does some pretty kick-ass professional standard BBC interviews”, then you’re gonna need a bigger box.
A much deserved comment, Neil, and it makes a change to get a glimpse of a different ego for a change. I feel like I know some people’s intimately…
Congrats!
Congrats, Your Wonderfulness
Good job!
