iTunes podcast logo and link generator

I have been asked a few times: How do you podcast something on itunes? Here is an easy way to give your podcast audience with a straightforward, one-click link to enable them to regularly and automatically receive your podcast in iTunes - without all that messing around in iTunes itself.

Over at the Apple website, I came across the ITMS Link Maker [grateful thanks go to Learning in Hand for the lead].

The procedure is very straightforward:

Step 1: Enter the song, album, and/or artist to which you wish to link. Click “Search”.
Step 2: Click the drill down arrow associated with a specific link on the page.
Step 3: Copy and paste the HTML link into your web page.

The iTunes Link Maker not only creates a deep-link right into iTunes when clicked on - that is it takes the visitor straight to the iTunes page for your podcast - it also generates an itunes image - which is stored on the Appl servers, so no worries about fiddling with that - and, if the clicker does not have iTunes installed on their system, redirects automatically to the iTunes download page.

Without this little utility, you will have to boot up iTunes, search for your podcast, right-click on the details, copy the special URL, then deal with images and links in your webpage. This is an almost-one-click solution to direct iTunes podcast automatic updating.

That’s the iTunes podcast logo all sorted. Future posts will cover more ansers to the questions “How do you podcast something on itunes?”
