Following on from this post, I’ve today discovered Google’s own downloadable application to enable direct access to your Gmail/Googlemail on your Sony Ericcson K800i.
Use your phone to go to: http://gmail.com/app
There you will get the opportunity to download the small application for your phone - I’m assuming that there are compatible Gmail applicatons for many phones, but I only have a K800i, so cannot test any other models. Save the application on your phone and when you call it up, you’ll be asked - only once, ever, it seems - to enter your Gmail/Googlemail login and password.
Mail access is stupidly straightforward and there are options to search, filter, compose, star, archive, delete, report spam, plus a few simple settings to configure the application (Keep logged-in, pre-download messages, and use small fonts). Only thing mssing is regular automatic checking for new mail in the inbox, but I suppose that may not be a viable options with mobile data charges the way they are these days.
Simple, small, and perfectly formed Gmail access on your K800i phone.
