I’m not convinced about Ubercaster, Neil, beta or not. Your podcast sounded much better on Garageband…just sayin’!

  2. neil Says:

That’s something I’m aware of and the reason is simple: Garageband has a number of pre-set voice filters which use compression and EQ to make it sound great. With Ubercaster I’m still messing with the settings of compressors and EQ Audio Units to get the right sound.
Ubercaster wins hands down because it has a valid, non-destructive, usable workflow, and everything (including encoding to multiple file formats) happens within the same application. The sound issue is harder to establish for sure, but more tweak-tastic in the end. I think you should assess Ubercaster by its use, not by my non sound techie’s attempts at EQ ;)

Neil, your description of how you work, having to deal with things immediately or you forget about them, reminds me very much of myself, although I’ve never really linke it to ADD. Hmm, something to think about.

  4. neil Says:

I think I’m both ADD and forgetful!
Put this to the test: write yourself a reminder note to do something and place that note in full, clear view. If you constantly register that note’s existance yet fail to register its associated action, then some ADD process may be playing a part. If you forget to write the note - you may simly be forgetful ;)
