Mr Spikey, Mrs Spikey, the spikey kids, and the spikey neighbours

sany0015_2.jpg The Spikeys (shown left) are the new additions to the previously sparse and plant-slaying bedroom window sill.

The window’s south-facing aspect and uninterrupted sunlight (weather permitting) means many indoor household plants struggle to stay green, healthy, or alive. At least we think that might be the reason.

The cacti were purchased individually and assembled into an arrangement by my very own - now liberally perforated and stabbed - fingers. Tip: do not attempt to re-pot a cacti planting outside in fading twilight! For some reason that tall bugger got me more than the others combined; I’m going to have to keep my eye on him.

Look carefully at the picture and take a moment to ponder the sound accompanying the clock’s alarm tomorrow morning, when one sleepy arm swings up to stab the snooze button. I should point out that my alarm clock is out of shot to the right…

For most people, a single wound would be enough. For me? I predict four or five before I actually relocate my alarm clock. Even then, I imagine I’ll reach up there out of habit.

Keep the first aid kit near, my dear.

Is it just me, or does the tall one look like something you could buy in Ann Summers? :)
