I finally got around to ordering my new powerbook. Timing seems to be just right with the announcements of the latest version release yesterday - a slight speed bump and some neat features. It’s odd though, as this is really a work-related purchase, I don’t get quite the buzz I would if it were a personal purchase.
The big debate in holding off till now - despite the rumours of impending updates - was whether to wait for a G5 processor powerbook, but that is still 6 months or more away and my 677Mhz titanium powerbook is starting to show its age. It will be relegated as a music server or something around the home. It is bizarre just how attached us mac users get to our machines; we never want to let them go. I have never experienced that with a PC, nor known anyone who has. I’ll find a valid reason to keep my little tibook around and not just collecting dust.
