Photography along the Thames at Maidenhead

Just before the day’s light dissolved into grey nothingness and the roaring winds begun blasting through the town, a group of local flickr members assembled for some wandering chatting, and more importantly, clicking shutters.

Never one to assume one cannot achieve something from even the cloudiest of days, and having the distinct urge for the outside world, jEN and I popped along.

Around 200 shots, of which 43 were worthy of a second look. The final lineup of eleven can be seen as thumbnails below, with the larger version over on flickr.

Two trees

Red plant

Plants by the river

Leaves on a corrugated roof

Long forgotten boat

Floating banana

The house at the end

Patched boat cover

Green fance

Chalked Lyssa

  1. Wow! I can’t help myself but to post a comment. All of your shots were awesome! I especially like the “long forgotten boat”. It seems like your photos were full of emotions…so unique shots! What camera did you use?

Thanks Kirsten. I’m currently using a Canon 350D, but of course, shots like Long Forgotten Boat have had a fair bit of post processing in Photoshop. Glad you like the shots.

The shot of the plants really appeals to me. I think they might be some variety of Japanese Sedge. The blades seem to be a little tired, but still trying to please passers by.

Thanks! That shot was a tricky one to make work as the light was so poor that day, but the result is pleasing.
