The best way to grab an online audience is to learn what people are looking for and give them just that. Going where the potential already exists, has to be the most straightforward means of targeting a niche and building audience.
So here are the top searches from the past three months for keyphrasescontaining the word ‘podcast’. In other words, people are already searching for podcasts in these subjects more than any other (recently):
There are many more fishing-related podcast searches than appear here - but I did not want to bore you. And of course ‘adult’ related searches have been omitted (they tend to be general terms such as ‘podcast porn‘ or ‘sex podcast‘), as are very broad terms such as ‘free podcast‘. Yes, I know, ‘parrot podcast‘ is just plain odd.
As a very rough estimate compared with averaged numbers from the early part of 2007, overall searches containing the words ‘podcast‘ or ‘podcasts‘ are up significantly.
