The PS3 controllers have, of course, been enhanced quite considerably, while retaining the same layout and overall design. There are now accelerometers to sense movement of the controller itself – something not as yet used used particularly frequently in current games. In addition, the L2 and R2 buttons have been enhanced as triggers rather than buttons, providing superb control for variable input levels, ideal for vehicle accelerators and braking in particular.
These buttons are the flaw, or at least their shape is flawed. I found that after some time of intense game play, my fingers would tend to slide off the bottom of the L2 and R2 triggers when depressed fully (something you must spend a lot of time doing when racing vehicles). To compensate, I would press the trigger harder than necessary in order to prevent slipping. Result: excessive strain on the index fingers. The addition of a small lip at the bottom of each button would have solved the problem of slippage.
It’s been bugging me, until today.
Wandering into a games store this afternoon provided the answer: Real Triggers. These are clip-on additions to your L2 and R2 triggers that provide that much needed lip. No disassembly or fiddly installation, they simply attach to the existing triggers. No more slipping fingers, and therefore no more – ahem… I should more rightly say “a little less” – getting slaughtered by the other team in Warhawk.
Lol, I have the same problem, but I had never thought about it. I will take your tip, Thanks.
