Google’s trend graphs are very revealing about search behaviour, particularly when comparing different but related searches.
Take a look at this graph:

The blue line shows searches for ‘turkey’, the red for ‘diet’. Notice the very large ‘turkey’ peak each year, right around Thanksgiving, with a smaller one at Christmas. Searches for diet have peaks right at the new year, after the festive gorge is over. I find it fascinating that the general pattern of the leaks is almost identical each year. You can see another interesting correlating trend for rain & depression.
