But somehow I just don’t have the geek enthusiasm I once did.Don’t get me wrong, for the most part I love Apple products – as I’ve said many time I am measurably more productive using Macs compared to Wintel – but I am far more focused on what the technology allows me to do than the technology itself. My beloved powerbook enables me to do all the things I need to do to pay the rent.I am not even close to being ready for a new machine just yet, nevertheless it would be a brave man who shells out hard-earned money on a first generation machine with a new chip.

Watch any interview with him, and you’ll soon realise that Brent/Gervais are one and the same and that disappoints me so much it turns me off his comedy.I’ve watched his standup and find it clumsy, forced and entirely lacking in comic timing…. Maybe one day I’ll meet the guy and change my mind – that’s always a joyful occasion (similar experience with Ikea springs to mind)But now, he’s going to podcast.
