Whilst picking up a few bits and bobs in Tesco*, I noticed a banner right across today’s Telegraph: “Download the best of the Telegraph for free“.

Visit the page at http://podcast.telegraph.co.uk to download and subscribe to the podcast. It has a surprisingly amateurish feel to it. Production quality is high of course, but sounds just like your average decent quality podcast rather than the expected slick and smooth operation I expected from such a source.
Unlike the fuss at the launch of iTunes‘ podcast directory, prominent newspapers using podcasting as an alternative means of reaching their audience really could be the first steps in taking podcasting into the mainstream.
*The mention of spotting this in Tesco is my attempt to assure you I do not read the Telegraph (or any other newspaper for that matter).
