It started with my notebook application (currently Mori) and now I am wanting it ecerywhere: three column wide screen layouts.
Thanks to a new plugin, OSX’s Mail can now be added to my list (take a peek at the screenshot, and yes, that is my real mail account and folder list on the left!). The plugin switches the orientation of the message list and message view panes from one above the other to side by side. Only installed yesterday, it is taking a little getting used to as would a dramatic change to any application you use moment by moment. I found I had to rearrange my toolbar icons to be a little more logically placed and my brain is still adjusting to seeing things happen in different places, but I’m pretty much liking it already.
Switching the facility off is a matter of uninstalling the plugin - a bit of a pain, but this is the kind of arrangement you either stick to or drop, not something you’ll switch back and forth often.
